Forever One Sided
In a house too big, where I felt so small,
A creaking cot, no warmth at all.
Far from my mother, I’d cry at night,
Until he appeared, my sudden light.
A boy in blue, with a crooked smile,
What a beggar am I !
The slightest affection seemed like love.
Those little efforts seemed the source of my dove.
Unaware that I am worthy for more than that.
Maybe really a beggar I am -
that I get happy with few cents,
